Oregins_
Oregins is everything of the earth. Molten metals meander. From patinated darkness to mirror shine, Oregins’ layers display the palimpsest of our inner world.
Oregins was born out of a fascination with metal finishes, layering and light. How dark can one oxidize a metal, how smooth can one polish a metal. Oxidized too far the metal becomes unrecognizably transformed. Polished too far the metal wears out. The exploration of this exact range and its limits is the quest of Oregins.
Oregins loosely map imaginary mining sites in their assemblage. Sineous, deep, and often sinister, these sites symbolize a search for rarity and value through rarity. This search in itself is a search without an explicit target. The discovery is imminent. The discovery is also a shot in the dark.
